Yes, it’s true. I joined the Clessidra Knitalong! I’m so excited. I worked on the socks a bunch yesterday, and they are just amazing. I’ve never participated in a KAL before, and it is so much fun! I love seeing everyone else’s socks. They look so beautiful. The colors are great, and seeing everyone make great progress is really inspiring to knit more. I made a ton of progress yesterday.

I kind of fail at it. I’ll try to be better about it now that I have free time. I still don’t know how I feel about not being constantly busy. At least I’ve had time for knitting! I’ve been working on Clessidra
I love this sock. I don’t work on it very much because I actually have to pay attention when I knit, so that doesn’t work well for class.
I’ve been working on Monkey, too.
I’m using the Apple Pie yarn from Mouse. It is amazingly beautiful. I love it.
I started Red Herring again, too. This time the colors are a little different, but so pretty.
I bought this yarn with a skein of dark red and planning on doing some color work. I like this better though. And the pattern is amazing, so that helps. Plus I can make ankle socks with the lighter shade and the red. I think they’ll be pretty amazing as well.
I pulled this out of the stash today.
It’s Icarus from Interweave knits that I have not worked on in a while. I have a 2 hour off campus meeting that I have to go to tonight, so I figure I should take something interesting to knit.
I’m counting down until Sunday and going to see the Yarn Harlot! I hope to see you there!

It’s so beautiful. I’ve been waiting for 2 months to get this thing. It was supposed to by my birthday present from my mom, but it was a little late. The important thing is that I have it now. I can’t wait to try it. Unfortunately I don’t have any hanks of yarn here at home (I may have already wound the malabrigo lace weight…), so I’ll have to wait until I get back to school. Oh well.

And that’s going well.
I also started my mom’s birthday socks. Also Hedera, but this time I’m using Opal sock yarn.
They are lovely. I can’t wait to see how they look when they’re finished.
I’ve been working on my blanket a little, too. I don’t think you can really see what kind of progress I’ve made, but it still looks good!

Remember that beautiful Malabrigo lace weight I bought? Well, I’ve been searching all over for the perfect pattern, and I think I found it. The Haruha Scarf. It’s delicate and pretty, but simple. Not too simple, mind you. I can’t wait to start it. It will be so pretty!
It is so difficult to find a good lace pattern for free on-line. I looked for hours, and all the ones I liked either had to be payed for or required more yarn than I could afford. I swear, if I see one more hideous, eyelash/decorative crap yarn scarves, I’m going to snap. Who in their right mind thinks fun fur is okay??!?!
Before I can start any new projects, I have got to finish the second Hedera sock. I’m on the heel, so hopefully it will be done by the end of the week. Wish me luck! And now it’s time to sit on the couch and be sick. Perfect knitting time.
Spring break is finally here, so i decided to spend my day hunting for props and shopping for yarn with Rachel. We, of course, did this in true Ann Arbor fashion. I checked the Salvation Army, the Re-cycle Center, and the Treasure Mart for props. We had a lot of fun at Treasure Mart and took lots of pictures. When we have an apartment, we’re buying all our dishes from there. It will be amazing (when the apartment thing happens is unknown. but it will be cool when it does happen). We both bought some lovely things from Treasure mart, all of which were 50 cents. We have small matching glasses:
I also bought two glasses for Keith (a friend, and who’s show I am finding props for):
He likes ancient Greek theatre, so I thought these would be appropriate. Trust me, if you’ve ever been to Treasure Mart, you would understand why they were too perfect to pass up.
After Treasure mart we had an amazing lunch at Kosmo’s, where we used to go during high school. We reminisced about how great high school was and how it’s strange that we liked high school better than college, but that’s what happens when you go to an amazing high school. We also met the most adorable child ever.
He was our buddy, and he and his baby-sitter ate lunch with us. It was a lot of fun.
I went to Busy Hands and Flying Sheep in search of yarn for Clessidra. They are so beautiful, I just have to make them. It took forever to find the right yarn, but I did find this at Busy Hands:
Malabrigo lace weight in Pearl. 470 yards of beautiful merino wool. I don’t know what I’m going to use this for, but it was too perfect to pass up. I just could not leave without it.
I finally found yarn for the socks at Flying Sheep
Dalegarn Baby Ull in navy blue. Cheaper than sock yarn, and with enough in stock to buy 4 skeins. Who would have thought that I could make knee high socks under $30.
Today was wonderful. And now it’s time to knit and read some more plays.

Urban Gypz sock yarn in Autumn Study (i think) that I bought in Asheville over the summer. I love them.
I’m alive! Really! Fiddler was taking over my life, so now that that’s over I should have more free time. Not much, but a little. The exciting part about Fiddler is that it gave me a lot of knitting time. I’ve finished socks, and even done a little spinning (that was more for relaxation before a show. I was not spinning back stage).

They’re so pretty. These were my main Fiddler socks. They were knit mostly in the green room during the 20 minute breaks I had where I was off stage. I recommend knitting backstage to anyone at a show. Nothing too complicated, but it helps you keep your focus which is always good.
More socks? More Interlacements Tiny Toes, but this was a gift from my brother (kind of. The gift card that bought the yarn was from him. I still say they’re from him). An look how pretty!

And now for spinning. I don’t spin very often, but I love it. I have an adorable little drop spindle and some beautiful roving that Mouse gave me ages ago.
It’s so beautiful. What I’ll make out of it once I finish spinning, I don’t know. But that doesn’t really matter. I just like spinning. I recommend you try it. It really is very relaxing.
